Nishiki Daitomo

  • dried salted fish
  • soy food
  • dry foods
  • Japanese sweets

Merely saying "dry foods shop" does not convey the depth of this store. The store owner says, "You may find what you are looking for," but it would be more appropriate to say, "You may find something you never thought you would find.” You will find everything from food for votive offerings, ingredients for chakaiseki (tea ceremony kaiseki dishes), and Japanese sweets to rare bottled ingredients. Some items are not on display in the store, so feel free to inquire.

There are shiitake mushrooms, kelp, somen noodles, fu, yuba, dried tofu, dried daikon radish, etc. If there is a common denominator among these ingredients lined up at the store, that would only be that they require rehydration. There are indeed many ingredients on the shelves.

There are many unusual items, such as decorations for chakaiseki dishes and offerings for Shinto and Buddhist rituals.
The sword squids with matching-length tentacles are available in a variety of sizes. Shiitake mushrooms are also available in different sizes that can be matched upon request.
